How did you hear about us?: Plurk friends!
Character Information
Name: Suzuki "Sue"Gonkura Pot (Noodle)
Canon Origin/Series: Gorillaz
School Year: Third
Gender: Female
Age: 13
Out of school living location: Crawley, England
Blood status: Pureblood, raised as a Muggle.
Personality: In canon, Noodle is the quietest Gorillaz member. In the beginning this is due to the language barrier, she starts with only knowing a few words, including "yup" "duh" and "noodle", hence the name her bandmates gave her. Even as time went on her language never really advanced, though she is seen occassionally providing back up vocals for the band, though really, when your lyrics consist of "Get the cool, get the cool shoeshine" it's more a skill of repetition than a skill of making sense. So she began her life as the Gorillaz's guitarist speaking a mix of Japanese and Engrish, though eventually that would change. But we'll get to that.
While Noodle's generally quiet, and happy to stay in her own world, if the subject or topic becomes something that she's really passionate about, watch her light up. Out of all the band, she was the most vocal in promoting the second album, Demon Days, which is partially due to her deep interest in "saving" the world from reality tv and trashy pop and so on, and partially due to the bones of Demon Days being of her own creation. She planned it all, and in a manner it's her baby, her creation. So of course she's going to be passionate about it.
And she's smart. And talented. She'd have to be, to be to be such a brilliant guitarist at the age of 10, and to create an album at the age of 14 or so. However a lot of this all comes from her past life. Trained, with 22 other children, by the Japanese government to become a super soldier, Noodle was taught many things. Languages, including sign and lip reading, combat and weapon skills. Computers, mechanical skills. And even her talent for music comes from that training. Originally taught to specialise as a guitarist, Noodle discovered that she was in fact trained to innately master all skills. And while most of this information was wiped away before her arrival on the doorstep of the Gorillaz, it was returned to her with a secret phrase in a private trip of discovery to Japan. And Noodle is now unique, all the other children destroyed when the government deemed them too much of a risk to use.
And she's mature, if a little weird thanks to her raising. There's zombies? No biggie, she'll just exterminate them. Her moneky smokes? Oh well, he should cut back. There is little that can shake her, and when she's focused you cannot break that. She'll pour everything she has into her work, and she'll demand perfection.
But Noodle is still a little girl. She's often consider the sole innocence of the Gorillaz and it can be easy to see why. Murdoc has his vices, Russel's seen his fair share of death and ghosts and even 2D his faults. But Noodle is often considered to rise above the vices of fame, to focus solely on the music. Her floating island in the song "Feel Good Inc" can be seen as a metaphor to her innocence, she sits on the island, playing her guitar and floating freely, while the rest of the band are trapped in a building, dark and filled with groupies.
Even her interests show her youth. In phase one she states that she likes "I like hair extensions-a, plat-a-form boots-a and the fun time happiness". She is also shown to have a fondness for hats, enjoys to dance, and keeps things like gameboys and tamagotchis. And her room, as seen in the Dare video, is that of a typical teenage girl's. The sign of the door with flowers, posters and cds everywhere, a little messy. Plenty of lights, and a lean towards her heritage in decoration. Just ignore the head in the closet. And don't come in without her permission or she'll throw things till you get out.
But all her good points Noodle has her flaws. She can be too much of a perfectionist, demanding the best of the band, and trying to steer them into a direction she wants. This leads to her second flaw of being too critical, of those who enjoy reality tv and trashy pop music. She looks down on those who enjoy such things with disdain, and will even do her best to ignore such people.
And her focus often leads to her ignoring other things. Like Russel she can be prone to ignoring Murdoc's treatment of 2D, often for the good of keeping the band together. And even at times she can find herself ready to snap at 2D, giving him a rather cold and harsh glare for killing her tamagotchi for one.
But in the end she's a little girl. A mature and intelligent girl yes, but still little.

Background (AU!Canon; HP): Sayonara Noodle's, or Suzuki's early life is a mystery, even to her. With her memory completely wiped, there's only fragments that she can remember and even those are like a dream to her. In Sue's mind, her life started when she was 8 and she woke up in a foreign country.
But of course, that is not a true beginning.
In reality Suzuki Gonkura was born in Osaka, Japan, a Halloween baby. Her parents are irrelevant because as soon as she was born she was picked up by an underground operation, possibly attached to the government, possibly not, and all because said operation knew she had the potential for magic. And from then she was put through training, taught to master magic and muggle skills, groomed into becoming the prefect child soldier. That's all her life was, that of a weapon, to everyone but one of her trainers Mr Kyuzo, who disobeyed and formed a bond with the small girl, becoming more of a parent than just a teacher.
And so when the operation was forced to shut down, when the order was given to destroy the 23 children soldiers, Mr Kyuzo did what any parent would do. He got his child out of there, wiping Suzuki's memory and shipping her off to England with little more than a faked birth certificate to claim her nationality, or more importantly her mother's as that of a British subject. And so then there was a girl, with a name, a few half remembered English words and a faked backstory. And no memories of her life.
So she did what any girl would do. She ran, cold and hungry and alone, confused and scared. While Mr Kyuzo had made sure to send her to an English orphanage he hadn't made sure that she had arrived and so there was no one looking for. She wandered for days, fleeing from adults with their strange words and picking food out of garbage to feed herself.
But it wasn't completely lost. In her travels Suzuki came across a fairground, and with the bright lights and the smell of hot food calling to her she sneaked in. It was then David Pot, Stuart's father found her, trying to steal from a hotdog stand. While she attempted to run he caught her easily and did what any good man would try and do and attempt to locate her parents, the task made harder by Suzuki's incapabilities to understand anything he said.
And then no one ever came. With some effort Mr Pot managed to get a name, Suzuki, which he instantly shortened to a much easier to pronounce Sue. But there was nothing else and despite how many calls he put over the PA no one came and by the end of the night, well what else could he do but take the poor kid home. He'd take her to the police in the morning, after a rest.
Well that was the plan. A combination of Stuart finding an instant attachment to the girl and no one ever coming for her meant that Sue became forever connected to the Pots. A formal adoption sealed it and she became Sue Pot, sister to Stu and daughter of David and Rachel, nicknamed "Noodle" in honour of it being one of her first English words and her resemblance to the food, the girl skinny as a stick. Life settled down, and Stu's mum saw to it that Sue began learning English, and when she found her fascinated with Stu's musical instruments, encouraged her to take to that, getting her her first guitar.
Then when Stuart's turned 11 a letter came, proclaiming him a wizard, much to the surprise of the Pots. Originally dismissing it, as muggle's are prone to, Stuart's headaches and their causes became stranger and stranger, they looked into the school, and took a chance. This meant Stu, Sue's only friend was leaving her, in a world she was still growing used to. But unlike other siblings Sue didn't cry and beg to go herself, showing a maturity beyond her age when she showed Stuart off with a smile.
Stuart's adventures at Hogwarts became exciting new tales for Sue to hear, breaks from the ordinary life she had in Crawley. As ordinary as a little Japanese girl with no memory's life can be. And over time her 11th Birthday crept nearer, Sue waiting with hidden impatience for a letter she hoped would come.
And when it did, the Pots dealt with their confusion at having two magical kids, one who wasn't even biologically connected to them. Sue on the other hand celebrated by playing her brother's records as loudly as possible and beginning her packing straight away. She waited with barely restrained impatience for the trip to Diagon Alley, and dragged Stuart along with her as she ran straight to the wand shop to get what was hers; Cherry, dragon heartstring and 9 2/3 inches, solid. And along with the wand came the niggling sensation that this was all too familiar, a sensation Sue ignored and marked up to simply being caused by her familiarity of the wizarding world through Stuart.
At Hogwarts Sue herself a quickstudy in most subjects, her favourite being charms. School is easy to her, even with her third year upon her. It's friend's she can struggle with, finding herself hanging around more and more with Stuart and his friends, rather than breaking off and finding her own. The language barrier can't be blamed for that, with lots of work that was erased, even if Sue phrases things in ways others find weird and still finds herself using some honourifics. But really, what do they expect from Stuart Pot's younger sister, thinking outside of the box is natural to her now.
Hopefully it won't cause her trouble. Livejournal
How would your character fit in to each House? [Please fill this out for each House, and explain why. We don't want see just "OH THEY'D NEVER BE IN THIS HOUSE!" We'd like you to explain why. This does not guarantee any House placement, it is more for moderators to consider.]
Gryffindor: Sue could fit quite neatly into Gryffindor, as she often displays courage. She shows courage in Phase 1, with the film clip for "Clint Eastwood" where she kicks one of the zombie apes in the face. She shows bravery in her trip from Kong Studios to Japan all by herself and then in her return to Kong and her battle with the zombies to regain the studio. She is not one to cower easily.
Hufflepuff: Willing to put in the hard work and dedicating herself to that are two of Sue's best qualities. She brought the band back together and encouraged them to do the second album, an album she created the scaffolding for. And the oodles of patience she must have thanks to how idiotic her bandmates can be, means that Sue could definitely fit into Hufflepuff.
Ravenclaw: Ravenclaw is the house that I feel Sue would fit in best. She's creative, showing in both her music and her sense of style, seeming to put together most of her own outfits. She's intelligent, being able to speak multiple languages and be skilled in multiple areas in canon, all by the age of 10 which shows she learns fast. And she's a firm believer in individuality, sneering at those who follow the heard and become part of a mindless horde in her eyes. Ravenclaw would suit her well.
Slytherin: As someone trained to be a child soldier, Sue definitely has her own brand of cunning, even if it doesn't often show. And ambition, well she has ambition to spare. Her ambition to rid the world of "trash" is what drives her to create Demon Days, and she uses every trick and resource she has to do it.
